Coronavirus (COVID-19) and CBD - 3 Things You Should Know.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) and CBD - 3 Things You Should Know.

With the worldwide outbreak of the Coronavirus, and people searching for guidance everywhere they can, there has been a lot of misinformation out there. Especially in the social media. Some “companies” out there are spreading false, dangerous claims about CBD and its’ effect on this virus.

It is with a heavy and disappointed heart that we have to write this blog. At a time like this, when people need factual information, in order to prepare themselves the best they can, these pyramid schemes are taking advantage of people. They’ll say anything and everything to get a sale.

Be very careful. Always be weary of any company whose claims cannot be verified by a legitimate source.

This is why we felt it was of the utmost importance to get you this information.

To provide you with simple verifiable facts. So that you can make an educated choice on how you want to prepare.

Below is our list of 3 things we believe you should know about CBD and the Coronavirus.

CBD will NOT protect you from the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

There is zero evidence that shows CBD is directly effective in protecting you or healing you from any Coronavirus. Any “company” that claims their magical formula can do so, is trying to scam you.

They are playing on people’s fears.

Ignore and block these companies from your social feeds, in any way you can.

Use the below as a guide to make your own decisions.

CBD can benefit the Immune System.

There’s a lot more research that needs to be done. However, along with a healthy diet and lifestyle, CBD seems to assist with the regulation and strengthening of our immune systems. CBD acts directly on our Endocannabinoid System which is responsible for maintaining homeostasis in our bodies.

According to an article by Project CBD, “Scientists know that plant cannabinoids like tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD) impact our health by interacting in different ways with the endocannabinoid system. Thus, it makes sense that consuming medical cannabis will also directly affect our immune system. But researchers are struggling to understand exactly how.”

This is best achieved with two varieties of CBD.

  1. Full Spectrum CBD
  2. Broad Spectrum CBD

Unfortunately, in this case CBD Isolate will not be enough. While CBD Isolate does wonders for many, when it comes to maintaining homeostasis in your Endocannabinoid System, you need the full entourage effect that only Full Spectrum and Broad Spectrum CBD can provide.

How to protect yourself?

What we do know is that the virus is thought to primarily spread from person to person. Especially in close contact (within about 6 feet).

So, the best way to not get sick, is to avoid being exposed. That’s easier said than done. In all cases, it’s best to use the guidelines below, as per the CDC.

  • Use common sense.
  • Wash your hands often, and avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Do your best to avoid close contact with people who are sick, especially if you are at higher risk.
    • According to the CDC, “Older adults and people who have severe underlying chronic medical conditions like heart or lung disease, or diabetes seem to be at higher risk for developing more serious complications from COVID-19 illness.”
  • Stay home if you’re sick.
  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze.
  • If there are no tissues around, use the inside of your elbow, not the palms of your hands.
  • Flush the used tissues down the toilet. If you throw the tissue in an open trash can, the virus can still live on the surface.
  • Wash your hands with soap for at least 20 seconds, or clean your hands with a sanitizer that contains at a minimum 60% alcohol.
  • Use disinfectant wipes on your frequently used surfaces, including doorknobs, light switches, desks and phones.
  • When possible, eat whole, healthy foods. Not processed chemicals.
  • Get enough sleep.
  • Drink enough water and stay hydrated.

 Washing Hands

There are a lot of unknowns about the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and chances are we will not get any concrete fact-based information for some time to come. In the meantime, all of us need to take responsibility not only for our own health, but for the health of those around us as well.

The above guide lists just some of the suggestions of what we can do.

There’s so much more.

Use common sense. Do what you can to avoid being exposed. Try to build up your immune system, so that if you are exposed your body can fight this virus.

Don’t fall for scams that promise to keep you protected or heal you.

We wish you all good health.

We’re all in this together.
