What is the standard dose of CBD?
More and more people are trying incorporate CBD into their daily routine. That’s fantastic. CBD seems to be a natural way some people are improving their lives.
Especially since now it's so easy to order CBD online.
People are using CBD and even CBG/CBN/CBC recently for many ailments. Some of the benefits include stress management, despair, slumber issues, discomfort and even inflammation. It’s important to note that the FDA has only approved one cannabidiol based medication thus far.
Epidiolex has been approved as an oral solution for the treatment of seizures that have been associated with a few severe and fairly rare forms of epilepsy, Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, Dravet syndrome and tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC).
This medication has been approved for patients as young as two years old.
This helps to answer some questions with regards to whether CBD is safe for children.
Clearly, if the FDA believes patients two and up can use the medication, they believe there are no serious risks involved in treating kids’ ailments with CBD.
Since CBD popularity is on a rapid rise recently, there’s a very large number of first-time users.
Which is a great thing.
We strongly believe CBD can change lives for the better. Problems can arise however, when the first-time user is not well-informed.
Just like with anything else, it takes trial and error to find the right type of CBD and dosage that can work for you. Be patient, and you will find the right combination for you.
Learn and study CBD, before trying it. Otherwise, you might be put off forever, and will miss out on one of the most magical, natural hemp extracts that can change your life.

What are the most common types of CBD on the market?
-
What is the standard dose of CBD?
-
Can CBD dose be split throughout the day?
-
Can you up a CBD dose if discomfort doesn’t respond?
-
Can you overdose on CBD?
-
How far in between should I take a dose of CBD?
To be perfectly honest most of these questions are very complex and personal. Each of our bodies responds to CBD differently. It will take some time to figure out the type and dosage that is right for you.
Don’t get discouraged and stick with it.
We promise it will be worth it.
What are the most common types of CBD on the market?
There are currently 3 main types of CBD for sale online. They are:
Each one has a special place in our hearts and a special purpose in our daily lives. In recent times, a new cannabinoid has started to become very popular, CBG.
Full spectrum CBD contains all the different cannabinoids from the hemp plant.
That includes terpenes and flavonoids, which can help you with the entourage effect. That is when all the compounds in a full spectrum hemp extract work together to achieve your desired outcome.
This spectrum can contain up to 0.3%THC. Not near enough to get you high, but with prolonged use can lead to a failed drug test.
Broad spectrum CBD contains all the different cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids from the hemp plant, minus the THC. This variety is THC Free but can still offer the entourage effect.
Finally, there’s CBD Isolate. This is the purest form of CBD around, containing up to 99% of pure cannabidiol. This spectrum is also THC free.
However, because it only contains the cannabidiol oil, it is the most processed version and will not give you the benefit of the entourage effect.
The choice of spectrum is a personal one. To learn more check out our detailed blog post on CBD Oil Spectrums.
What is the standard dose of CBD?
The standard dose of CBD can range from 20mg to 60mg daily. That is assuming you are utilizing the internal digestible oil, and not a topical salve or spray. If you’re new to CBD, start low and see how your body responds.
We recommend starting with a 500mg or 1000mg oil and consuming a quarter of the dropper twice a day at the same times for 5 days. Be consistent, as it is important for the cannabidiol to build up in your body to achieve the full benefit.
Take notes on how you feel daily. That is the best way to be objective.
After 5 days, increase or decrease dosage until you achieve the desired effect.
Can CBD dose be split throughout the day?
Absolutely, it is preferred that way. Most brands recommend you split your CBD dosage into two increments. For instance, if your ideal CBD dosage is 60mg per day, take a 30mg dose in the morning. Follow that up with a 30mg dose in the evening.
This way, your body is constantly working on achieving homeostasis.
Can you up a CBD dose if discomfort doesn’t respond?
The human body generally tolerates hemp extract oil fairly well so you can increase your dosage if pain doesn’t respond. Please keep in mind that theoretically it can take up to two weeks for your body to build up enough CBD to help with discomfort management.
That is assuming you’re consuming the hemp extract oil and not a topical salve.
There are many different strengths of cremes, so feel free to increase the strength until you reach the desired relief. Some come with additional scientifically proven ingredients that can help.
Can you overdose on CBD?
Hemp extracted cannabinoids are non-toxic, and there has never been a fatal overdose case reported. According to a study from 2011 and posted on National Library of Medicine, extremely high doses (up to 1,500mg per day) are generally tolerated well in humans.
1,500 mg is an unusually high dose, considering the standard dose is between 30mg to 60mg.
How far in between should I take a dose of CBD?
Consistency is key, when it comes to taking CBD. Which is why we strongly recommend taking your CBD twice daily, at the same times.
Our recommendation is to take your first dose in the morning, followed by one in the evening, 12 hrs later.
If you take your first drops at 8 am, follow up by taking the same amount again at 8 pm. Fairly simple.
